California Faucets Goes Back to the Future with Steampunk Bay® Sci-Fi Inspired Bath Series

Taking its cues from retro-futuristic steam gauges and gears of the “steampunk” genre, the versatile new series redefines industrial style in the bath.

Huntington Beach, CA — Just as author Jules Verne created avant-garde sci-fi stories that bred a new genre of fiction, the Steampunk Bay® Series from California Faucets tells an inventive new story in the bath. Inspired by the science-fiction steam-powered, gear-driven time machines and spring-mechanized robots that define the steampunk genre, Steampunk Bay is refreshingly devoid of today’s immersive digital technology. Its utilitarian shapes and slightly distressed finishes capture the zeitgeist of today’s industrial design ethos, while an array of customization options allow designers and homeowners alike to create a personalized expression of industrial style in the bath.

“Steampunk Bay is like a vintage industrial faucet that microdosed on psychedelics. With its wheel assist handles and industrial-age precision markings, Jules Verne would want it in his own bath if he were alive,” says Noah Taft, California Faucets Senior Vice President of Marketing and Sales.

The sturdy yet elegant series offers a choice between single hole or widespread faucet, wall- or deck-mounting, and curved high arc spout or slightly square low spout design. Three handle options including a Wheel Handle design reminiscent of antique gears, a trapezoidal Lever Handle, and triangular Blade Handle, inspire further customization.

To accentuate the industrial look throughout the bath, the series includes Roman Tub sets, Bidet sets, Towel Bars in three sizes (9”, 18”, and 24”), Robe Hooks, and Toilet Paper Holder. Plus, the series’ shower trim is based on an actual 1920s-era steam valve gauge with steel dial and vintage markings and typeface.

Like all of California Faucets quality fittings, the Steampunk Bay Series products are made of solid brass and available in more than 30 artisan finishes including 15 PVD (Physical Vapor Deposition) finishes, which are guaranteed not to tarnish for the life of the faucet.

List pricing for the Steampunk Bay Series ranges from $849 for the Single-Hole Low-Spout Lavatory Faucet with Blade Handle in Polished Chrome to $2,072 for the Widespread High-Spout design with Wheel Handles in Premium Finishes such as Lifetime Satin Gold.
